While crisis management strategies are useful in the event of an emergency, Positive Behavior Support systems can actually prevent crises from ocurring.

Positive Behavior Support is the process of supporting the whole person and providing for their needs. We address the physical as well as the social environment.

Proactive Environments address:

Our course addresses the need to create Proactive Environments which meet the needs of students as well as classroom staff. Time is provided to create or modify current program structures which increase learning and decrease the likelihood of crisis.

In addition to developing programmatic supports, we also focus on the creation of strategies designed for individual students. Individualized Support Plans address particular problematic issues and provide solutions which utilize the strengths of the student.

  • Identify the problem
  • Identify the replacement behavior
  • Reinforce the replacement
  • After completing Functional Behavior Analysis, staff will address the student's needs with instruction and support. With continued reinforcement, the student learns to cope with meeting his/her own needs in a more acceptable and productive fashion. Data collection and analysis are also addressed.

    CONSULTATION-

We are often called to consult on individual components of Positive Behavior Support. These include:

Please see description of our consultation services.

    STAFF SEMINAR-

While our SECURE Seminar contains an introduction to Positive Behavior Support and Proactive Environments, we've found that many staff often request additional instruction and support with their own particular program or student.

Our PBS training is designed to meet the individual needs of each program on a consultative basis.

Positive Behavior Support Seminars are completed at your location in increments of two hour blocks. Additional travel expenses may apply.

  • 2-8 hours = $250 per 2 hour session
  • 8+ hours = $200 per 2 hour session
